A First

So, Dave's parents are in town this week. Dave, his dad and brother have been none stop finishing our basement. Not only have we had a stright truck full of supplies delivered by Home Depot, they have had to make numerous runs back to the Depot for last minute items. So at 8 pm last night they decide it's time to go to Home Depot again. Due to the "construction work" Dave and I really haven't had time to hold a conversation, so he ask me to join him....very romantic! Anyway, as we stroll through the Depot last night, I have my first Braxton Hicks contraction....at least I think that is what it was. I am walking down the aisle with drills, saws and nail guns as my stomach completely tightens and I freeze. Dave turns the corner, sees my face and is immediatly freaked out because he knows something isn't right. Dave grabs my hand and just said let's walk slow and see what happens. After about 2 minutes it goes away and everything is back to normal. I guess I can say we experienced just a very small episode of what is ahead of us!

Don't worry Amanda - I had them from 12 weeks on with both of my pregnancies. They can be uncomfortable but don't really hurt. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the BH and the real ones. I told my Dr. that and she chuckled "you'll know" and guess what she was right! It's exciting knowing your body is revving up and getting ready to birth that baby!
